Can be circumventedPosted by Anonymous at 1:23pm July 19, 2008 Flag This

Create an encrypted tunnel via ssh and you can bypass their filters. Granted you need a proxy server, so it's not a solution for the average user, but I do it all the time and can surf any site I want with my data completely encrypted from prying eyes.

The secondary generic filtering program seems to monitor what sites get heavy traffic and block them, not matter what their content.

They've now added Google Video, Metacafe and Geocities to their list of blocked sites.

filters out geocities...Posted by John at 2:27pm March 07, 2008 Flag This

screw the political stuff... it filters out geocities sites and many photo sharing sites...

it also uses an unidentified secondary filter program...

an odd filter was the budweiser site and a site that sells orthodox christian items...

PB uses SonicWall filter softwarePosted by Matt at 00:38am June 25, 2007 Flag This

I suggest your listings should include a flag for filtering and possibly identify the type of filtering software used so that consumers can make an informed choice.

Panera Bread's free access is censored/limited/filtered/blocked by SonicWall software. This software blocks many First Ammendment protected topics including both pro-life and pro-choice websites, religious websites, and even political websites. How dare any business tell Americans what we are allowed to read!
