Canvas closed last month. time to find a new spot...

Guess what?Posted by Anonymous at 00:42am December 23, 2005 Flag This

I was in the parking lot of Canvas when I saw a customer leave in their car looking rather upset. I also noticed that the parking lot was completely empty.
Why, I wondered. Same old story. Wifi was out, and nobody knew how to fix it.
Rumor has it that a customer has sent a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, but you didn't hear that from me. ;)

Out againPosted by Anonymous at 9:18pm December 15, 2005 Flag This

This morning, a few people were in Canvas. This is a big tipoff that the wifi is not working...and it wasn't. :(

Today's ReportPosted by Anonymous at 7:25pm December 12, 2005 Flag This

Today the wifi was down again and no one knew how to fix it. Good job, Canvas.

Nice hangout for people who need to do their homework/studying/work. One thing I'm wondering about is why there are so many flies in there. It's terrible.

Weekly Report 11/14 to 11/18 of wifiPosted by Anonymous at 3:04pm November 19, 2005 Flag This

Well, this week was good news and bad news. There was one day at Canvas when the wifi went down an astonishing 4 times within 4 hours. That's the bad news. The good news: the workers reset the computer and the wifi went back online all four times. Did the management finally fix their wifi setup instead of ignoring the problem, as was done previously? We don't know yet. But next week's report on Canvas wifi will tell. Stay tuned. Maybe the low attendance finally had an effect.

Weekly Wifi Report On CanvasPosted by Anonymous at 6:12pm November 08, 2005 Flag This

Since management doesn't want to fix the wifi, I have decided to post a weekly/daily report about their spotty service until they do.
Today, at around 11am, the wifi service went down. People asked the help to fix it. All they said was, "It does that sometimes."
Management continues to ignor problem. People start to leave the cafe. Not good.

Lousy WifiPosted by Anonymous at 11:23am October 26, 2005 Flag This

If you're looking for dependble wifi with your coffee and food, forget about Canvas. The wifi has been out on an average of at least 30 to 45 percent of the time. Don't buy your coffee until you check that the wifi is up. The management either doesn't care or is too cheap to fix the problem. I guess they don't care that they're losing customers. Btw, the wifi was broken again today. Grrrrrr.

Very nice place to hang out, but don't expect dependable wi-fi in the mornings. The service goes out and the cashiers don't know a thing about how to fix it. Most of the time, they'll take your coffee money and let you think that the wi-fi is working.

I went there on 2005-10-15 (Oct 15) and their policy is no wifi in the later evening. I forget when, maybe
around 7 or 8 they turn off the free wifi. Perhaps to keep dorks like me away when all the hip cool people show up at nite.
