So, after eating lunch at Blimpies my friends and I decided to take a walk over to Barnes & Noble right there behind the HEB at I-10 and De Zavala... and again to my surprise they now offer FREE wireless Internet... that's confirmed it... from now on I never leave home without my laptop. This is another connection that I'll have to check out later.

Still not free.Posted by Steve at 8:22pm April 30, 2007 Flag This

It must've been a temporary thing, because B&N is a T-Mobile hotspot -- which is always a pay service.

I went there yesterday and found out it is a T-Mobile Hotspot, which is no longer free.

SBC accessPosted by karmajunkie (www) at 08:10am June 21, 2006 Flag This

If you have SBC access at home, you can access the wifi at BnN (as well as several other places in town, such as Jim's and some McDonald's) for 1.99/month, added ot your SBC (AT&T) bill... dig around their pricing options to find it. DON'T do the membership option--that's a year long contract at a minimum of 19.99/month. I've got a blog post about it somewhere on my blog if you go to my website and dig around for it, i'm too lazy to link...

So if you have SBC DSL at home, then can you log in with your username and password?

Not free, anymorePosted by Karlyn at 5:31pm November 05, 2005 Flag This

I guess the temporary period has ended. I went in there yesterday and discovered that it's actually SBC providing them wifi that you can tap into for an hourly or a monthly fee.

Temporary connectionPosted by Tha Billdozer at 10:29pm October 05, 2005 Flag This

OK, so I went back with my laptop to check out this connection and it was fairly fast and stable... ALTHOUGH, the sign on the door says it's only temporary... when the cut off date is nobody could say.

If you stay near the mags and Starbucks there is only 1 set of plugs... if you go over to the far side of the shop (left side facing the back of the store) there are desks with plugs all around.
