Sadly, alt.coffee and it's derivative hopscotch cafe were closed down in May or June 2008.

Bring a full battery; they do not allow any use of their wall plugs. http://ninja-text.blogspot.com/

Coffee shop for toddlersPosted by xinroman (www) at 7:03pm July 11, 2007 Flag This

Went here today with someone who used to work here often and said that it has changed a lot...i'd never been to this place before, and it was nice enough, but it felt about the same as going to your married friends' house in Park Slope - pastel colored walls, ikea arm chairs...and children's toys everywhere! It's like a coffee shop for toddlers now. The WIFI was free, but I didn't see any computers anymore.

Fuck you and your off-limits outlets!Posted by Sheena (www) at 05:51am December 11, 2006 Flag This

....but I'll still be coming back for my soy hot cocoa and them damn Vegan Treats cheesecakes.

Not free as of 12-06Posted by Larry at 9:14pm December 08, 2006 Flag This

Not an ideal hangout unless you like loud 70's music. Wifi is $1/hr, though it took several attempts to connect. It also has arcade games for atmosphere, maybe that's part of the 70's thing.

...but not StarbucksPosted by Daniel Beaverhausen at 6:41pm June 06, 2006 Flag This

Not great, but still better than starbucks. Sucks about not being able to plug in though.

Fuck this JointPosted by Hans Anderfuss at 6:39pm June 06, 2006 Flag This

Love the coffee, love the computers, but WHAT THE FUCK! There was this total jerk-wad behind the counter! He made my latte great, no complaints there. But whenever I wanted to bother him with anything, it's like I was asking him to shoot his grandmother! Totally surly asshole. You know, when you're in customer service, you're supposed to at least PRETEND like you care. This guy, it was obvious he didn't. I don't know about you, but I don't really care what mood the barista's in, he should leave that attitude at the door. Fuckin sweet coffee, though.

downerPosted by zach at 3:47pm January 28, 2006 Flag This

The AP wasn't working when I was there. I spent 3 bucks on gourmet coffee and didn't even get to check my email. The slacker counter dude was clueless and didn't give a bleep either. Don't bother. And no avaiable outlets.

Bad place to workPosted by jw at 2:55pm August 10, 2005 Flag This

No useable outlets, crappy decor. You feel like you're in a garage. i would't go here again.

Yeah, no plugging... And weak signal...Posted by Josh (www) at 11:19am May 15, 2005 Flag This

Yeah, and I could barely get a signal there. And (of course) they have a sign that says that due to lawsuits (or somesuch) patrons may no longer plug in their laptops (or anything else)... So... That pretty much ruins it as a good place to get some internet work done...

but no plugging in allowedPosted by NotSoSticky at 4:00pm May 07, 2005 Flag This

Bring a full battery; they do not allow any use of their wall plugs.
