Is No One Policing This Site?
Jeez. Have much of a problem with comment spam? Ever think of deleting any of it? BTW this pub still has high-speed free, no login required WiFi. And beer. And food. And music.

A reminder about comments...
They've got great coverage, now. Keep in mind that the complaints were posted over two years ago -- the most recent comments are above the older comments. Most places weren't offering any wifi at that time, so these guys were already ahead of the curve. Anyway, this place is definitely recommended!

Just Fantastic
The Town is just great, the music is fantastic, but most of all..picture this sitting in an Irish pub sipping your ICE COLD beer or your favorite drink whilst the temp is 100 degrees F outside, fresh and very comfortable inside watching the world go by, chatting and able to access the internet at high speeds via your wireless laptop for FREE..Yeh I know what your thinking..hmm there is a GOD.

Great Pub, Great Wireless
I'm sitting in the pub right now, using a MAC, which of course picked up the network. No problem. Seems to have a decent bandwidth, better than the so-called "high speed" of my hotel room. The spot right next to the window overlooking 6th street is the sweetspot for me.

Tried it before the recent upgrades. Got a weak but usable signal from a table looking out the front window over 6th Street. Even then, the combination of a great view, a pint of Guinness, and Internet access was divine. If the recent upgrades have boosted download speeds, then the front of B.D. Riley's may well be the best place to surf in all of Austin. I'll have to check it out and report back on the improvements.

Connection now works GREAT!. Signal has now doubled what it was upon original install....and it's free. Cheers

Coverage Boosted
No prob with moving the lengthy part of my description back here--thanks. Coverage is now fixed--we have moved the access point forward about 40 feet and now have strong signals throughout the pub. Our lead glass dividers make some dead spots along the side walls, but otherwise, surf and drink to your heart's content!

From original description...
I placed this extra info here to help keep the location descriptions brief. Hope that's cool with whomever posted it. "Coverage is good and fairly even in back bar, spotty in front bar. Considering adding a Linksys WSB24 to boost the signal, unless someone has a better/cheaper idea for antenna or booster."

J
Decent speed when connected... spoke with two of the managers (or owners) and they said that the glass partitions on the side booths offer up some interference. They are looking into adding a booster or moving the WAP up front.
