Bouldin Creek S 1st St at W Elizabeth St, 78704 11 Comments Add Comment Flag This

Type: Coffeeshop / Cafe Hours: Unknown

Cozy little hipster coffeeshop and restaurant down on South 1st Street. Colorful. Decent smoothies.

It's been a while since someone commented...Posted by Jonathan at 07:47am April 30, 2007 Flag This

I went to Bouldin Creek yesterday. It's not too busy, so I found a table easily. The wi-fi has obviously been improved, especially after seeing all these negative comments. The coffees are really cheap- I got a mocha soy latte (comes with 2 espresso shots) for just $3. Where else can you say that?

While the restrooms are really clean, other parts inside were a little dirty. This place is really outdoorsy, so there were just a few flies and a tiny harmless spider crawling about the wall next to me (it eventually got on my arm somehow, but i just flicked it off). It didn't really bother me...it just adds to the experience.

Anyway, I'd definitely go back :)

Great Atmosphere, So-So Internet ConnectionPosted by Jen at 2:33pm October 08, 2004 Flag This

THE PROS: plenty of parking, friendly staff, cheap coffee, cool music, great desserts (especially the pie), a diverse mix of customers, clean bathrooms, fun decor

THE CONS: The Internet connection there isn't very reliable. It's a nice place to hang out and study, but if you ABSOLUTELY need Internet access, I'd go somewhere else.

spotty wifiPosted by carlos at 4:56pm July 30, 2004 Flag This

i had trouble with the network inside most likely to interference from appliances....

My reviewPosted by Eldridge Patteson at 5:11pm April 11, 2004 Flag This

I'm currently connecting from outside on the deck. There were only about four tables inside and I didn't notice anyone with a laptop at any of those tables. I do see the big extension cord our here but it is plugged into some lights, so no way to plugin out here that I see. (I'll have to start carrying around an extension cord with splitter too, I guess). I saw two other people out here on the deck with computers. I'm connected at 2Mbs and had no problem connecting at all.
I had one of the best salads I've had in a long time and the coffee is excellent, the menu is strictly vegan so don't look for any meat here.
All in all a nice place to connect and eat, it will be on my list of good places from now on.

Access inside much worse than porch accessPosted by last ever (www) at 1:43pm January 23, 2004 Flag This

It's almost impossible to connect from the front area, but supposedly a lot easier near or on the back porch. Some of the only vegan food in Austin.

If you like being outside on the porch and trying to conserve batteries, bring a splitter for your power cord. They have a long extension cord but it has but a single outlet on the end.I keep an extension cord in my car with three outlets on it.

neglectful service, not enough plugsPosted by Anonymous at 08:05am April 30, 2003 Flag This

Any way you spell it, the staff are still kinda jerky. Not only do they not tell you when your to go food order is up (after 35 minutes), they give you wincy glares, treat you like you're not there and act like you're doing a disservice to them by supporting their jobs. If you're going to dress like you're a free-thinking and understanding part of the community, please act like it. Coffee jockeys do not equate rockstars. Alas, they have good coffee, awesome brownies and the best tofu meal ever, "el tipico".

not enough plugs to support my wireless habit for more than an hour.

Sorry about the spelling snafu. Emergency situation neutralized.
