These past two weeks I've spent a great deal of time putting together an application for the This American Life summer internship. This past weekend, I sent it all off -- an e-mail with three Word documents (cover letter, answers to some thought questions they pose, and a resume) and a UPS package with hard copies of the same.

Will it work? Will I get to spend my summer in Chicago, working for the greatest show on the radio today? I don't know. It's a long shot, I think, though I have no idea how many people apply or exactly what traits they look for in applicants. But, I'll keep my fingers crossed and we'll just have to see what happens!

Note: The links on the following pages were not included in the Word files I sent. For your convenience, though, I've made the links to specific TAL episodes and my own files.

I'll post any news on the matter right here, below the line...

It's out the door. No more tinkering. No more rewording/reworking. The ball's in their court. In the e-mail to Starlee Kine I asked for a short response, please, letting me know the application materials were at least received. So far, no response. I didn't get a response from her, either, when I sent a few general questions about the application process to her about a month ago. If I get simply no response to my application, I'll be a little pissed, but I trust them enough to be courteous!
