Ruth and Brenna.

Ruth Elkins, on the left, lives in Berlin and writes for the Independent UK. (She's English.) Recently she experienced some fame in the area as an eligible bachelorette chosen by a paper to be the center of a "find this girl a boyfriend" campaign. (Or something. Does that make sense?) Anyway, her face ended up on magazines and she got a bit of publicity so this March she's been prepping an outline and a sample chapter for a fictionalized novel about the affair which, Brenna tells me, will be in the vein of Bridget Jones' Diary. She's the first person my age I've met (I believe) who has a literary agent... Neat.
